A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing!
Thank you, Uncle John, for all the kind words. I’ve enjoyed reading your posts, they inspired me to start writing here. From here on out I will be calling you John, because I already have an Uncle John.
As promised in my previous post, this post will be about “Beware of a Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing”! First a little history. The first “recorded” reference of this is from the bible, Matthew (7:15-16). “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves”. Now 700 years prior to Matthew the Evangelist’s writings, historians believe that it was a fable by Aesop, the Greek fabulist. The fable tells the story of a hungry wolf wandering upon a sheep’s carcass picked clean with only its fleece intact. The wolf, thinking to himself, “if I don this fleece, I’ll be able to get close enough to a flock and snatch me a lamb for dinner”. As the fable goes on, once the disguised wolf was in the flock, another wolf happened upon the flock pouncing on a sheep and having IT for his dinner, unfortunately it was the disguised wolf.
Now, since fables are stories passed down from generation to generation, and not written down, there is no way of telling where the story originated.
Now onto our modern day “Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing”.
Pandering in politics has been around for decades, whether it’s Trump working a fry machine in McDonald’s, Hillary breaking out the hot sauce and speaking with an urban southern accent, or the countless candidates (from either side) dancing at their rallies, with about as much rhythm as an anvil being dropped from a 10-story building. Pandering is and will continue to be a part of politics. Even though politicians have pandered to their prospective constituents, their political positions, for the most part, stay the same, but that is not the case with Vice President Harris. Even to her own party she labeled herself as a “progressive prosecutor”, while her record drew scrutiny from progressives calling her a “cop”. Yes, Madame Vice President, actions do speak louder than words.
“I will ban fracking”, she exclaimed during her bid for the presidential nomination in 2019. With a complete 180, she will NOT ban fracking and even goes so far as to claim that since she has been VP she has supported fracking. Which is not a lie, but where does she really stand on the issue? What about health care? During her 2019 bid, she was for government run insurance, she even co-sponsored a bill (2017) with Bernie Sanders for a single-payer health care system. Good ol’ Bernie, he recognizes what you really are under that frock. [Because he still believes she’s a progressive] Now when asked about her position on healthcare, her answer is: “Everyone in this country has a right to healthcare”. Is that a sheep’s fleece on your back Madame Vice President? “Everyone has the right to be warm”!
Is there anymore? Why yes there is.
She wanted to abolish ICE, now it’s about strengthening our borders by hiring more border agents. She has flipped on almost every progressive policy, now supporting the liberals (even a few moderates) and not the progressives.
Is this just a clever way of infiltrating the flock? {so to speak} If elected, will she shed her ovine wardrobe to betray all the sheep that have accepted her as one of their own? Or will she stick with her newly adopted prệt-à-porter and end up having another wolf devour her? Guess we will find out on November 6th.
