A Quick Challenge

Here’s a challenge for you. It’s worth it, and will take you about 10 minutes, tops.

The top GOP contenders (apart from Trump the media pariah) are: Ron DeSantis, Mike Pence and Vivek Ramaswamy.

The top Democrat contenders (apart from Biden, the incumbent) are: Pete Buttigieg, Kamala Harris and Jared Polis.

Google each of these names. Read the first 20-25 headlines. (Read the articles if you like, but that’s not critical to achieve the purpose of this exercise.)

Do you feel angry and frustrated or happy and vindicated by the material you’ve just read? Do you think anyone with a political opinion feels neutral about this exercise?

Now think about the American political spectrum. As evidenced by the results of our elections – where is the center?

Think about where you obtain information about politics, social issues and current events? School? Social media? News media? Your favorite sports and entertainment figures?

Where does this content fall within the political spectrum you’ve just identified?

Thanks for indulging me. ✌️
